Greetings true believers...
I would be lying to you if I said nothing was wrong, so I'll get straight to the point. Flames of Eternity needs your help, I need your help. Communication has ceased with the previous developer, more than likely because of life happening. Life has happened to me as well, as a major transition occurred in my life, along with two moves and career changes. One thing that I have not given up on is the hope of seeing this project through to completion.
Excuses aside, here is the one main fact:
I still have copies of the developmental files and notes from Enhasa. Also copies of the tools used through development!
I am asking for Mugen Kagemaru to contact me at: ruby.dragoon@gmail.com ASAP!!! Even through Google Hangouts.
I will be checking this email address frequently.
Please please keep hope alive!
If you think you can provide a meaningful contribution to this project, email me at the address posted above, and attach copies of your work. I have to weed out the unskilled hopefuls from the skilled hopefuls. This is nothing against the community at all, this is because of the simple fact that I do not have the time to spin up people on using the developmental tools, and this is a failure on my part. I am a father and a husband, as well as working a full time job.
Share and Enjoy~
Giro
You know, I totally understand you. First this is just a game, yet a great project but life with our familly is way more important than this. CT:FoE is already a great game, with some glitches but playable from the beginning through the end. So take it easy! I'm a father and a husband too and I own a YouTube channel / Facebook page and I can't update it as much as I would like. But the time I spend with my familly is way to precious for me so I made some choices. see ya!
ReplyDeleteDear Gero, its amazing, that you made so long way ,your job is unforgetable! Our life and family are always on the first place, our mental power, our dreams and hopes ,our loses... Be strong and happy! If you can finish project later it would be great,if not-i think normal people will understand your life position (i hope my english is understadable:) ) Happiness to you!
ReplyDeleteGiro, some of us have been following this with you since the beginning. Know that your dreams of completion are appreciated and shared by others such as myself. I apologize in that my capabilities and availability is not as such to be able to contribute anything other than encouragement to you and the team.
ReplyDeletei always knew this wasnt over!
ReplyDeleteIf you Need someone to test test test things in game, hit me up... Nothing but time here...

DeleteMugen! answer the call!
ReplyDeleteWith what? I don't know any coding languages!
DeleteAnd I apologize to Giro for thinking I did! That's my bad.
I'm so happy to see another update after all this time.
ReplyDeleteWe're still here too - and we believe in you!
i have waited this long. i will wait more
ReplyDeleteYou may have passions, but make sure your family comes first.
ReplyDeletecan we get some type of confirmation from mugen when he sees this post
ReplyDeleteSomeone by the name of Matheus Henrique on YouTube said they found his email.
DeleteHere's your confirmation. Me and Giro... uh, have been corresponding by email since about 5 hours after he posted the update.
DeleteI should've checked in here sooner. My bad.

ReplyDeleteGreetings from Brazil! This game is awesome, I expect we can do all the job to put it 100% ready! I am not programmer but if I can help in anything, count with me!
ReplyDeleteI just got started on this. What would be the difference between the current version and the update? Is the current version 'finished' in the sense of finished story?
ReplyDeletethe current version is like 99% complete, new update should be very minimal and bug fixy
ReplyDeleteseems like there is fresh prints here now

ReplyDeleteOh wow, I forgot to check the comments of this... Fucking oops.
ReplyDeleteHi guys, it's me.
As a matter of fact, Giro was able to get a hold of me about 5 hours after posting back in October and we started talking, but I sadly only had two logos to truly offer.
I don't know Assembly or Temporal Flux. I'm not a code writer.
Giro and I had in fact been in contact before, again back in 2010, but for reasons I can't recall, we fell out of contact. Not hating each other, but I just couldn't reach him.
In addition to the logos, there was another thing.
At one point while we'd been talking back in 2010, he'd asked about putting me in the credits. I'd declined, but only because I wanted a cameo instead. He'd declined that, and the topic... sorta died. I don't remember us reaching a conclusion on that.
As I said, I don't know any coding languages or stuff for making stuff like what FoE is supposed to be, so I don't really know how much help I can be.
Even playtesting is iffy since I remember CE and the FoE I'd played back in 2010 required some major grinding. While that's fine if you're into that sort of thing...
The problem is, I'm not.
Vanilla CT was cool in that you at least didn't have to grind a LOT to beat it. Hell, CT is on my wish list of games I want to Let's Play at some point.
Earlier today I finally managed to work out a means of non-email contact with Giro and in the past half hour have worked it out. We've been talking on and off for the past half hour before I posted this.
Sorry if you thought you were jilted by me. Nope.
Hey man! We are glad to see that the hope for the complete completion of such a grandiose project still lives on! Russian fans of retrogaming also hope for your help! We believe in you guys! Know that a lot of fans of this series follow the news every day and are happy about every little thing! Respectfully
ReplyDeleteappreciate the follow up mugen :)
ReplyDeleteThe question that everyone asks, I'm about to beat the OG Chrono Trigger... so which one do I choose? Flames of Eternity, or Crimson Echoes?
ReplyDeleteI'd Choose F.E., C.E. has many unfinished parts.
Deletei agree with the above post. CE is awesome if you're a huge fan and want a full experience of how FE came to be. if you've got the time i recommend both, but FE is superior in my opinion
DeleteYou've played both?
Deleteyes, once i beat CE i found FE and havent played CE since the "98% complete version"
Deleteim still trying how to find the most up to date version of the FoE patch.
DeleteOh, nice! I just started up FoE. I honestly wasn't sure which one to choose, but here I am. Liking it so far. Only a few hours in.
ReplyDeleteJust started last weekend. Got to Marle's Frozen Flame Lotus Eater Machine and it crashes in the Yakra fight.

ReplyDeleteSo i just started playing FoE RC7 and seems to have a glitch/bug with Glenn once I reach the Mystic Den. After talking with the 3 captains and making a decision of who to side with (Porre, Mystics or Neutral), screen goes to the next seen with the 2 soldiers battling and on the right side are 2 beasts with 4 different soldiers. This part is where the game seems to hang with 2 soldiers seemingly getting kicked off/moving around the screen, and Glenn won't move. Pressing X to bring up the menu or pressing any other button won't do anything. Playing on a MAC via OPENEMU
ReplyDeleteany way you can move your save file to an snes9x and try it there? i think your emulator may be the issue
Deletei tried, still seems to get stuck. i looked for RC7D release and tried to move my save file there and it also didn't work. needless to say, i just stuck with starting all over again on the RC7D (it was rc7C that was glitching on my end)
Deletedid you rename your save file to match the 7d version?
DeleteIs there a new link to download the rom and play the game?
ReplyDeletehttps://www.vizzed.net/snes/files/Flames%20of%20Eternity%20(RC-7D).zip?_=1587007156
DeleteI got this one from a wasm online snes emulator.
Cya!
Is it complete? I havent seen any news about this.
DeleteYou should release Flames of Eternity as IPS Patch that requires Original ROM of Chrono Trigger. It's 100% legal and you won't get C&D by Square Enix.
ReplyDeleteLunar IPS
