Ringing in the new year, we (theRubyDragoons) are happy to bring you a new update to Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity!

Thanks very much to Dark_Schnider!
According to his change log:
”Some more remixes.
New Scene.
Fixed some dialog errors.
Some minor fixes.”

Here is the link to the new build! (This build and all future releases are now at the new standard of being Universal –SNES9x Compatible-)

We also have work underway on a little guide to the sub-quests, just know that the sub-quest guide and new techs are in the tubes for future release!

As always
Share and Enjoy!

  1. Hey, you're on reddit: http://redd.it/ev4v8

Thanks so much for all the amazing work you've put into this!

(If you'd prefer that I take down the post, I'll gladly do so immediately.)

  2. Oh, by the way, if you want a free host with no wait time, I'd be glad to set up Samba access for you so you could push updated builds to my server and the URL for the latest version would always stay the same.

  4. See, I told you guys that you didn't really need me :P

But, like the ending scene you guys needed done, I will help if it's needed. Just give me a shout. I'll be more than willing to do something in my spare time if you guys get stumped on something.

As the ex-coordinator of the Flames of Eternity project, I tip my hat to you sirs.

  6. I've played through an older build and recently have been streaming the build that came out 12-24-2010. I enjoyed some things in the older build such as the change of some techs. They seem to be absent in the newer builds. I'm not sure if they were buggy or what.

Also I'm not sure if this was a bug, but Spekkio keeps reappearing for you to get Oneiros (helmet for Glenn) That the player can exploit for a lot of gold.

But overall I give you my thanks for this release.

  7. So... you guys need a writer. Some of the dialog in this is pretty bland. If you'd like help with that, I'd be more than happy to help.

The scottish agent guy, for whatever intents, is implemented poorly by the way. It's unreadable =P

  8. @Evan, It's not supposed to be Scottish. It's Bork. Done with a Borkifier online to change his English dialog. In other words, it's an inside joke between the devs, and a way to make sure that the Compendium is in no way, shape, or form mistaken to have been involved in the project.

  9. loving the game so far but I seem to be stuck! I can't get to 69,000,000 BC...he tells me to bring lightning users but then he doesn't send me anywhere...help!

  10. I got stuck at the Kasmir part, trying to figure out how to get in because there was no dialog saying I didn't need to. After realizing I could spam "water" with Glenn and "aura whirl" with Chrono/Marle and heal after every battle with free food and get a ton of exp, I power leveled for a bit, got bored, then went into the time warp. Turns out that was what I was supposed to do for some reason.

^That helps a lot. When you're stuck, go to your chapter and look at the check list.

  11. Oh, and I was serious about the dialog comments. If you guys need a writer, let me know.

  14. Any chance that CTM will enabled usage on other emulators, i.e. psp, in the future?

    ReplyDelete
  15. CTM on the PSP would require a complete recoding. Such as, maybe a plugin, told to load music files from a certain folder, at specific times during the game. With the lack of the currently available RAM, and even more so, the lack of stability updates for SNES9x. I wouldn't expect to see anything near CTM for the PSP.

  16. I'm also wondering if you guys were considering an SPC hack (which would be nice for people playing on a psp, wii, etc that cant use CTM) which included these tracks

If you go ahead and do up a track list of which of those SPC's replaces what in the game and e-mail it to me, I'll have it thrown in the with the rest of the changes.

  18. I am pleased to inform you that the latest build is working flawlessly from what I've gone through so far, on SNES9x 4.4.1 for the PS3. Oh, the nostalgia from playing an SNES game on a 27" screen...

  19. I've beaten the game, but am having a hell of a time figuring out some of the last sidequests... when does that get published?

  20. I'm curious if you plan to make the ending closer to how it was in the crimson echoes build that was never released. I liked the fact that in the CE final ending Chrono and Marle disappeared into the Dreamtime which would make sense for their disappearance from history in Chrono Cross. Also any chance for the return of the techs you guys had in an earlier release?

  21. Apparently the 98% beta was leaked on reddit. I can post it or email it if you want. It could be helpful

  22. Really liking the game so far, but... As a writer, it is getting a bit annoying seeing how Glenn uses old english the wrong way. 'Tis stands for "it is" and 'twas is, "it was." So... You do NOT need a "this" in front of 'tis or whatever. Nothing against you, though. I'm sure you're a smart person. Not everyone understands old english, either. Well, if you can fix it with a patch, that's great! If not, well, too bad I suppose. Keep up the good work, though!
